06 Mar 10th Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit
The Go Negosyo 10th Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit, an annual summit centered on reinforcing the entrepreneurial spirit of the Filipino people invited Mica F. Tan to be a panelist in a forum featuring young inspiring entrepreneurs coming from diverse industries who are pushing boundaries of innovation, disrupting their industries and empowering their respective communities. The forum was also joined by Messy Bessy Cleaners Founder Krie Lopez, Founder and Agrea Agricultural Systems Inc. CEO Cherrie Atilano, Macho Mucho CEO Helen Layco, Author and Creative Entrepreneur Abbey Sy, Project Lily PH Founder and President Aya Fernandez, Snoe Beauty CEO and Founder Jen Gerodias-Diaz, and Access Travel CEO Angely Dub.
The annual summit, in partnership with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (BAC) Philippines, was attended by more than 15,000 participants composed of entrepreneurs, advocates, and students. Ambassadors, government officials, and partner institutions joined the celebration of a decade of empowering Filipinos. It was centered on reinforcing the entrepreneurial spirit of the Filipino people, particularly Filipinas and recognizing their capacity to be the agents of change and progress. It also aimed to provide inspiration and support to the significance of women’s economic power by covering different entrepreneurship and empowerment topics to be highlighted by plenary talks and forums featuring prominent female personalities such as Tessie Sy-Coson (Vice Chair of SM Investments Corp.), Dr. Vicki Belo (Dermatologist and CEO of Belo Medical Group), Lizzie Eder Zobel (Chairman and Co-Founder of Teach for the Philippines), Natividad Cheng (CEO of Uratex), Anne Curtis Smith-Heussaff (Co-founder and Creative Director of BLK Cosmetics), Clarissa Delgado (Co-founder and CEO of Teach for the Philippines), Georgina Wilson-Burnand (Co-founder and Marketing Director of Sunnies Studios) and many others. Designed to be the biggest mentoring event, the summit served as an avenue for the audience members to communicate with the distinguished guests through the open forum.
More than just a series of talks, the summit takes on bolder steps to resonate the importance of mentorship to women entrepreneurs. Consistent with the goal of the ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN), recently launched by the ASEAN BAC, women entrepreneurs will have a chance to learn more about scaling up their business from fellow women entrepreneurs.
